Curiosity is a good
place to start.
We recognise a skyline. We pass a familiar building. We say “let’s go there someday.” But there is so much we walk past without knowing the story.
Jalan Malaysia is an independent attempt to change that through play. Small, explorable worlds that invite locals to see familiar places again, and give visitors a more personal introduction to the country.
The idea is simple: wander a little, discover something, and take that curiosity into the real world.

No one person can tell the whole country’s story. The aim is to build with local voices: residents, teachers, historians, artists, photographers and people who know a neighbourhood by heart.
Shared stories will be reviewed before they become part of a world. We’ll ask before using personal contributions, credit contributors as agreed and welcome corrections. A beautiful miniature should make you more curious about the real place.
